(If you’re skeptical like I was
Let me first start by saying I’ve purchased many things on Amazon and never write up a review because I don’t want to invest the time in doing so; however this video purchase is well worth the time. I learned of Eric Goodman and Foundation Training via Dr. Mercola. After looking up Eric’s videos on YouTube and trying a few of his excerises/stretches, I thought I’d make a small investment for what can potentially be the most helpful form of therapy for my back. (If you’re skeptical like I was, try the YouTube videos first)I have chronic back and sciatic pain despite being a moderately athletic person who cross-trains 4 days/week. While I have found that exercising regularly and seeing a chiropractor has helped alleviate some pain, it only seems to be temporary because when I go back to work, the pain returns. I have been a dental hygienist for almost 20 years…almost everyone who works in dentistry for this length of time has shoulder, neck or back problems….we sit all day with terrible posture. For the past 15 years, I have spent thousands of dollars on different forms of therapy and have just started seeing a chiropractor again. He recently found the core of my problem and recommended certain exercises to help strengthen specific back and glute muscles. The Foundation Training videos claims to target and strengthen all the muscles to support good posture and a healthier, stronger back and to relieve pain.I just received the DVDs a few days ago and have done at least 20-50 minutes of the video every day. I was expecting a low resolution, poor quality video but was pleasantly surprised to find the opposite. The instructions and demostrations are very easy to follow—very precise and clear and you don’t need to be in prime yoga shape to do any of the exercises. Anyone can do this and once you are more familiar with the stretches, you can do this anywhere throughout the day (which Eric recommends doing the Founder pose as much as possible). There is no equipment needed, a mat and chair is optional. The nice thing about this is that I don’t feel that I need to do the entire video if I’m short on time; even 15 minutes seems to help and you can definitely feel a real good stretch in all the right places. It’s too early for me to say if Foundation Training is going to help completely alleviate my pain; however, I can say that it is targeting all my weak spots and seems to be helping my posture—I am already standing taller with my shoulders back. This purchase has been well worth it so far…less expensive than a visit to my chiropractor.

Worth Your Consideration
I’ve been lucky to avoid having serious disc problems, but for the past two years I endured a daily dull pain in my right hip/low back after an exercise injury. I’ve never received a satisfactory diagnosis; it’s a difficult region to pinpoint the exact source of dysfunction. My reliance on pain medication, heat pads, and the inability sit comfortably dominated the way I lived. Considerations about how my back would react had to be factored into every facet of daily life.I’m not a stranger to exercising, so I attempted every fix I could think of: back massagers, trigger point therapy, foam rolling, stretching, yoga, pilates, sports massage therapy, chiropractors, & heat and cold therapy. No matter how optimistic I was about each form of therapy, none of them seemed to resolve my issue.During one of my now frequent online searches for a silver bullet to my problems, I came across Dr. Goodman’s training. After following some YouTube video routines for a couple weeks, I felt enough of an improvement that I thought it would be worthwhile to purchase the full DVD program. I had spent hundreds on other forms of therapy, equipment, massages, and doctor visits. $70 dollars seemed reasonable.I started following the routines in late Summer 2016, and as of now, Winter 2017, live day to day with essentially zero pain. I don’t wake up sore every morning, I can sit comfortably for long stretches, and I can exercise with impunity. Just as important, the mental fatigue that arises from constant frustration has subsided. This program has truly been transformative for me. I can’t recommend it highly enough, especially if other forms of therapy have not provided the rehabilitation you are seeking. Some reviews have correctly stated that this program can be puzzling as it is not so much a linear program as a collection of exercises. I cycled through one workout a day from the first disc for a month, then did the same thing for the second disc, but changed the frequency to 2-3 times a week. I’m currently not doing them on a regular basis as I don’t have the need to anymore, although I do use the hip hinge workout as a warm up before working legs. I also will occasionally run through sequences without consulting the DVD; at this point I can combine the exercises into my own flow routines.

I love being able to see the exercises and how to …
I love being able to see the exercises and how to do them. Would have loved if it had complete workouts instead of trying to figure out which ones to do and when. I had to use the book and reference the video to make a work out plan. But the other then that I love the work out this helped with my back pain and will continue to do Foundations training
