Pretty (AI generated) cover, average quality bound journal
    — I will not knock a star off for the cover art being AI generated, since that reflects my personal bias. I feel like I should still note it here for full transparency. The rating I am giving is solely based on the quality of the journal. — The cover is a very nice leather-ish texture. One of the product images advertise this as a “lay flat” design, and it holds up for the most part. The covers do indeed lay flat, but I did still have to muscle the paper flat as it is a brand new journal.- In the front of the journal, there are 6 “glossary” style pages. The rest of the pages of the journal have a spot at the top for the date, and a spot at the bottom for writing page numbers.[I am admittedly slightly confused why the page numbers were left blank if one were to use the glossary pages, the designers could’ve pre-numbered the pages to save the consumer some work. I’m not sure I will be using the pages at the front, and if I did, I would likely just go through the entire journal numbering the pages before I wrote anything else down.]- The pages themselves are of average thickness as far as I can tell, maybe on the thicker side, but still quite standard for bound journals like this one. The printing can be seen through pages lightly, and worse toward the middle pages for some reason. I tested a variety of pens for ghosting or bleed through, and only the sharpie bled (no surprise there). My gel pen was slightly more visible, but only when I was really heavy-handed. For all the pens I tested, there was a small amount of ghosting, but barely noticeable.–Some strange additions: The book did have a weird smell out of the packaging, like glue or ink. Also, the pocket in the back is made of some weird soft, loose, flexible material that doesn’t quite feel like paper. All in all, it’s a fine notebook, and I plan on using it for notes for reviews.

Great to document my carving projects
Works great for my purpose! I like the index pages in the front, too. That is helpful to locate a specific project.I would say the value for the money is good.

    Flowered Journal
This notebook has a really sturdy binding, the paper is good quality and the design on the cover is vibrant and pretty. This would be a great gift or great to be used as a journal.

    Pretty and high quality journal
I love to use these journals to keep my “to do” lists. They have a sturdy and durable cover which protects it and also provides a stable writing surface. There is a ribbon attached to use as a placekeeper for the page you are on. The pages are generously sized with comfortable spacing between lines. I think the cover is pretty with a variety of pastel flowers. For some reason writing lists is more enjoyable when you use something attractive to do it.

Nice Notebook for a Really Nice Price
The notebook/journal feels nice to hold, and the cover design is pretty–flowers with a few bees and dragonflies flitting about. I’m not 100% sold that the cover is leather. It seems more like leatherette to me, but I could be mistaken. I appreciate the ribbon bookmark and elastic band that holds the notebook closed. The paper isn’t as thick as in some products like this, but it’s thick enough to prevent bleed-through from the gel pen I use for writing in it. As for the “lays-flat” description, it takes a little effort to make it open flat, but not enough to matter to me. What I really like is the six page (front and back of three pages) “table of contents” in the front where you can list the page number and “theme, topic, or subject” of what you write. To me, that’s genius–instead of flipping through the pages to find a particular entry, all I have to do is check the page number. To save even more time if different types of entries are made (notes, creative writing, sketches or doodles, outlines, etc.), they could be color coded. The lined pages are soft white with grayish lines–very easy on the eyes. Each page also has a place for the date and to write the page number. Not sure why the pages don’t come numbered, but maybe not having numbers on multiple pages for one entry will make it easier to find a particular page. An expandable pocket is attached to the inside of the back cover for small items like receipts, clippings, sticky notes, etc. I think the pocket is made of some type of heavy paper with a plastic feel to it. At any rate, it’ll come in handy. The “title page” in the front has lines to write your name, phone number, etc. in case the notebook is lost–that’s a nice touch! And the price couldn’t be better!!

Lovely for ballpoint pens and pencils but NOT fountain pen friendly
A lovely A4 journal but… the paper is NOT fountain pen friendly. Any ink other than regular ballpoint pens will bleed through the paper. I wanted to love this book, but the paper was the issue I had and am returning it.

    Very nice hardback journal.
This journal is so pretty. I ordered it because the floral print matched my tote bag really well. The paper inside is bright white, and lined. There are a few pages in the front for a table of contents, the rest of the pages are blank lined pages with a space for the date at the top. There is a pocket in the back cover for loose papers and notes. There is also an elastic band to keep the journal closed. The journal does have a lay flat design which is great for me while I’m writing out my knitting patterns. It’s a nice quality journal with decent basic paper, and I love the hard cover which has a leather texture to it.
