The product itself looks and feels to be of superior quality and the packaging is cute, functional, and comes with some handy extras like feminine wipes and lubricant to help with inserting the disc. I ordered these discs in hopes of spending less money (my period is heavy and lasts 8 days, so I go through a lot of tampons) and reducing my impact on the environment. I went with the discs over the cups because I had tried disposable cups from another brand some 15 years ago and I could just not figure out how to get it inserted correctly. Then again, that company didn’t have multiple instructional videos like Pixie does on proper application. Anyway, I bought the discs (and the applicator, separately). I was able to to get it inserted first try, and I’m fairly certain it was inserted completely and correctly, and it was comfortable! I thought all was well until I experienced “dumping” which may have only been a small release of the contents of the disc, and it may have only happened while I was otherwise relieving myself, but with my super heavy flow and prior experiences bleeding through whatever menstrual product I was wearing, I was a little too paranoid about leaking that I have decided this product is probably not for me. I want it to be known I didn’t actually leak (other than a few drops after using the toilet) in the few days I tried out the disc, but the anxiety around the possibility of leaking was too much.Why did I give the product 5 stars?Well, first of all, it’s a great product, and seems to work out for plenty of other people. Just not for me. More importantly though, is because of Pixies customer service. I reached out to them hoping they might have some way to help with my situation, as I had spent a decent amount of money on the few Pixie items I felt I needed to start my reusable period product journey (The money spent however pales in comparison to the money I’ve spent on tampons alone over the course of half a year). Pixie responded – so swiftly – letting me know they’d have a set of cups sent to me to try within the next few days. Free of charge and no questions asked.I’d done research before buying the discs. I vaguely remember reading something in a review about “dumping”. I’d researched the cups and saw there were instructional videos available that didn’t exist 15 years ago. All those things told me to buy the cups and despite all that I went for the discs. But this company clearly values their mission over profits and for that, I can’t recommend them enough.

The Perfect Period Product (to me at least)
I’ve had it for over a year now, so I can confidently say that this disc is the GOAT of all period products. Since I’ve bought it they did come out with a medium size that I think would match my flow better, but even the large size is easy to insert! No leaks, it empties when you go to use the restroom, doesn’t use suction like cups do (for all the folks out there that might have an IUD!), and even helps to keep period sex *less* messy. These are all things that they advertise, but I’m happy to say that it follows thru on every point! Sterilizing between uses is easy (I’ve opted for a little pot that I use specifically for my disc and boil it for 5-10 minutes), and I haven’t had any problems with tears in the disc itself. It does come with a little tampon-like string to help you adjust to it, but I opted to cut it off (and they even give you a little file to sand it down smooth lol). I’m being 100% serious when I say this is the first time I’ve ever been motivated to write a review on a product but it’s genuinely the best $20 I’ve spent on myself, and I know it’ll last for years! The one thing that I *will* say is that on the former/latter ends of your period when your flow might be lighter, it can take some more effort to insert it, so on those days I use a bit of lube to help things along (also from Pixie lol). Not necessary, but def helps! Thank yall to whoever made this at Pixie, you have my gratitude <333

I bought the Pixie Disc (medium size) to replace my old Lumma Cup. Before that, I was using a Diva Cup for years.I’m impressed! It came with a cute zipper pouch containing clear instructions, biodegradable wipes, and even a little file if you want to trim the tail. It’s well made and good quality. I also love that they have a buy-one-give-one program to help women in need. That said, the rim is a bit thicker than what I’m used to, so it wasn’t the perfect fit for me. Their customer service was excellent though! They stood by their 100% satisfaction guarantee and I really appreciate it.(Side note: If you’re thinking about switching from a cup to a disc, I highly recommend it. It sits higher near the cervix, feels more natural, and even auto-dumps when it’s really full. It’s super convenient when using public restrooms. A total game-changer)

I bought the Pixie Disc and was instantly impressed. It came with a super cute & sturdy case, and even some lube + wipes! The quality is amazing and everything felt thoughtfully designed with women at the heart of it.Although I couldn’t quite get along with the disc initially, I reached out to PixieCup via Instagram and was blown away by their support. They helped me troubleshoot and, when we figured out I might have a uniquely shaped cervix that meant the disc might not be for me, they generously offered to send me a menstrual cup to try instead. That kind of care is rare, so it needs to be recognised! The disc itself was great and it just wasn’t for me unfortunately, but I would recommend trying it out for sure to see if it’s for you. It does fit mostly everyone – just on the occasion it doesn’t, in which case PixieCup will help you out!Their products are beautifully made, sustainable, and backed by truly unmatched customer service.
