the quiet one –
Great bowl and a wonderful size.
This is a very nice size bowl. There are 2 of us and I don’t use a lot of big bowls.I have had this same bowl for a number of years and somehow I chipped one I’m not sure how.So I bought 2 more of this same size. Because with only 2 they were either in use or the dishwasher.I so like that you can buy replacement lids for them. So if the lid cracks you are not without a lid for the bowl.The older bowls I purchased were about 10 – 11 years old. I had 6 of the lids crack all crack in the same way and I think there had been a flaw in production. I have about 30 bowls in different sizes that I purchased to replace most of my Tupperware. I use many daily and have no regrets on any of the purchases. Pyrex does not break down, stain or hold smells like plastic bowls and can be used in the microwave or the oven safely.

You cannot go wrong with Pyrex. It is excellent. Freeze it, put it in the oven, its glass and its safe. Get away from the plastic stuff. It is no good for your health.

Reliable storage that actually lasts
These Pyrex containers have become kitchen workhorses for meal prep, leftovers, and snacks without any issues. Perfect for portioning and freezing your homemade ice cream!
Bought some of these for the express purpose of curing home made ice cream.The lids help keep crystals forming on the top surface. You could still use waxed paper in direct contact with the ice cream, for even better avoidance of “snow” for those flavors that set up to cure more slowly.The glass retains the cold better than plastic or metal– had been looking at stainless steel bowls with lids, but these are better in several ways. First of all, they are cheaper and more sturdy– no dents.The shallow design allows the center to freeze more quickly– quart yogurt containers take HOURS longer to freeze all the way to the center.They are stackable and it’s easy to tell when they are clean.Unlike stainless steel or most plastics (unless clear), you can tell which flavors you have at a quick glance. I have two freezer bowls for my mixer, so that I can make two flavors at the same time. No need to have just one offering for my guest’s dessert.You can use a warmed knife to divide the ice cream into sub-portions and transfer them to bowls. Less “danger” of over-indulging, then, if your will-power is insufficient to hold you back from finishing the container’s full amount at one sitting.However, I do recommend keeping them in the freezer for a while so that the ice cream isn’t warmed up at all when transferring it from the ice cream maker into them. I lay all four on my kitchen table to get them into the freezer of my refrigerator posthaste.Four-stars only because the webpage was misleading– only one container, not two. The lid should not be counted that way, as the picture indeed shows it.Be well.Be safe.

LOVE these Pyrex containers
I bought a 3-pack (2 cup, 4 cup, 7 cup) in a store several years ago and just love em. I recently bought 2 more (1 cup, 2 cup, 4 cup) and bought these 7 cup ones to complete those sets. All 4 sizes nest, making for compact storage. The glass is strong and thick… just as you’d expect from Pyrex. And the bowls are so versatile. I use em to prep ingredients for more complicated recipes, in the freezer, in the microwave, in the dishwasher (lids in the top rack), and of course for storing leftovers in the fridge. The glass, though thick, is very transparent, so you can easily see what’s inside. And they stack nicely when full, making for neat and clean storage in the fridge. I also love that I’m going from fridge to microwave in glass instead of plastic. The glass doesn’t absorb odors and holds up to whatever temperature abuse I throw at it. And glass is so much easier to clean! I also bought some of the Pyrex jars with the matching red lids. Those are awesome, too. My kitchen storage is open, so I appreciate that they match. I know it’s superficial, but the cubby with these bowls and matching jars is my fave. I even bought some new kitchen towels with red in em to match.

Love Pyrex
I’ve said it many many times. I will never buy Tupperware again. I will never buy that plastic Rubbermaid again when it comes to food, there’s only one storage container I will ever use and that’s Pyrex. Because you could also cook with it, and you could also put it in the freezer and the microwave. This is why this product is an amazing piece of technology.

This storage keeps lots of types of food fresh. The size is also large enought to use an electic blender. I was looking for a smaller food storage but it ended up being my favoriate contaner.
