Some serious concerns with this cup…
I have been using menstrual cups for many years now, I started with a Diva back in 2011 and for a while I actually ran a website for reviewing and discussing these items, so I have basically handled and reviewed nearly every major brand of these things over the years. I normally do not mind unknown or new brands but I actually have some concerns about this particular cup. Namely, this cup smells strongly of chemicals upon unboxing, something I have never seen before. Medical grade silicone should not a have smell to it, its very neutral, so the strong plastic fumes coming from this thing really worry me. I am not entirely sure if this was caused by the plastic packaging that this was contained in (it arrived sealed in a plastic bag which may have caused some of this) but I would be cautious about actually using this item. It did stop smelling heavily when I allowed it to air out and boiled it but its still concerning.Other than the above stated concern, this is a very standard design for a cup. Clear, quite soft, long (trimmable) stem etc. The soft feel makes it quite nice but it also has a very strong neck around the top and a collection of very deep, outward facing lines. These can be very uncomfortable for some users. Nothing about this design (it is very similar to a MoonCup) stands out to make this particularly worth ordering. The price is fairly reasonable but its not a product I would recommend. I recommend nearly any other major brand over this. I do like that the small size is fairly long, perfect for higher cervix positions in younger users.This item arrives in a box with zero instructions in English. This is a strange omission. It also has a nice, heavy cotton storage pouch which I actually like. It also, for some reason, came with a spare ziplock bag and a set of latex gloves. Why?
