Great for really wet watercolor
I was extremely pleased with this paper. It’s super absorbent so I had to use a ton of water with the watercolors to do any sort of wash. Because I had to use a lot of water, I did end up having to do a lot of layering of color too. However, the end result is great and the paper didn’t warp at all. As someone else said, it does not hold up to erasing.It’s nice and thick – no paint bled through, despite my excessive water use. I really love how soft the paper is to the touch as well.

Lovely watercolor journal paper
This paper has the most lovely feel to it. I made a hand sewn watercolor sketchbook with some of the papers. The paper holds paint well. Paint does not bleed through even though the paper is thinner than most watercolor paper I use. It is a bit rough for writing with fountain or art pens, and some inks do bleed through, but it takes pigma pens well. This is the first time I have purchased this product, and I was a bit apprehensive about it. But I really do love it. I am constantly surprised at how much water it can withstand. I even paint on both sides and it so far has worked well. I will definitely buy this again.

Satisfying
The quality of this paper is incredible. It’s art in and of itself. I was taken a back when I opened the package at how high quality, and artful this paper feels. I almost didn’t want to use it, but it made creating on it so much more satisfying. Incredible value, light weight.

Good Quality. Misleading Color Hues.
I like this paper as far as texture and size, but the color is not as it appears. It’s partially my fault because I didn’t look at the reviews, which clearly show the color difference. I was expecting a light demin from like the product photos, but a light grey is what it looks like in person.

Great handmade feeling paper
Good quality, thick paper. I used for invitations and they have a great, handmade quality when printed on and worked perfectly. I ordered the 8×6 instead of 5×7 and ripped the sides a bit more rugged than when they come. The sides still looked great though, just an accident on my part.

Leather Village is just the best. I bought a beautiful Bible case earlier this year, and just got this perfect cotton paper for watercolor. Everything from them is so high quality and thoughtfully packaged.

I’m really happy with the quality of this paper. It’s a great value for the price. The paperweight is light, it’s not the type of paper that I would use for watercolor in my style at least not for heavy washes for a lighter dry brush style artwork it would work. But overall, the paper itself is beautiful with the deckled edge the vintage tea stain. The only thing I would recommend on the part of the manufacturer for leather Village is to not tie the twine string around the pack of paper so tightly because it creates a dent and permanent crease into the paper which then makes the paper unusable for what I need on my end… the sheets that were unsalvageable for what I need. I put aside to use as test prints for later artwork.

It’s the little details
A little background. I am a woodworker and innovator. I normally just use graph paper for all of my ideas. However, they always get torn, bent, lost, etc. I have been wanting a journal/sketchbook that I can look back on and pass down when that time comes. This paper is exactly what I’ve been looking for. It’s the edges, the texture, the weight, the vintage feel. On top of that, that packaging falls in suit. It wasn’t expected which goes to show the quality of the paper. For the 13”x16”, it came in a box and wrapped well enough that no damage can come to the paper. Wrapped together with twine and a letter from the maker showing his gratitude from one artist to another. I absolutely will be stocking up and supporting the maker.

I had a Halloween themed game coming up quickly and I wanted to add some authenticity to the adventure by providing my players with spell scrolls. But I didn’t have the time to fuss about tea staining paper to mimic old parchment. So when I remembered the leather journal I’ve bought from this seller before, I checked to see if they had stacks of individual sheets. And they did! The recycled cotton paper, the gentle staining, and dappled edges, all combined to help create the beautiful effect I was after for hand scribing spell scrolls and letters to my players. I’ll be buying these again!Did I mention how amazing the paper feels?
