Great for sweaty hands and feet
I was looking for a travel yoga mat. I came across a few reviews saying it worked great for sweaty hands and feet. I always have to use a yoga mat towel or my sticky socks with my hand towel to prevent slipping. I have a manduka mat that’s supposed to prevent me from slipping which is okay. Having read the review of this mat, I had to try it.I can genuinely say, my emerald Aurorae mat does not slip. I was able to hold poses and don’t battle slipping and sliding due to sweat. The down side is that it’s very thin; however, I was looking for a travel mat and absolutely got what I wanted! It’s perfect for me!This mat is great for travel, great to avoid slipping from sweat, adheres to wooden floors, but not comfortable for knees because it’s thin.I’ll likely use this over my regular manduka mat when I return from vacation.Update: I am using this on my yoga mat every week with my yoga practice. It’s essential for my practice to hold my poses due to very sweaty hands and feet.

Great exercise mat for travel
Good yoga/exercise mat for travel. Folds up nicely in a suitcase. Didn’t smell too much before washing. It does need to be washed in a washing machine without an agitator. Slip resistant and packable. Very thin. I use a thicker mat everyday, but I would highly recommend for travel.

Slippery!!
Other reviewers mentioned that this mat is slippery, but I find most yoga mats to be somewhat slippery so I didn’t pay attention. No, this is Very Slippery!! There’s no way to do a downward dog or anything else that requires any sort of grip on this mat. Wetting the mat helps but doesn’t eliminate the problem. Fortunately I also packed my Yoga Paws or I wouldn’t be able to use it. It is also very thin (as expected with a travel mat) but provides some cushion on a hard floor. The rubber backing works well to keep it from sliding around on the floor.

Synergy gives me my Energy!
I ordered the much publicized mat.The price is reasonable for this mat, was very curious to see if I like it. Within a couple of days after ordering I received my mat and was ready to go and try it in my vinyasa classes. If your practice is Ashtanga, Bikram, Hot yoga, Pilates or any other exercise that you perspire or sweat THIS IS THE YOGA/EXERCISE MAT TO BE USED. One side of this beautiful sky blue mat is like a velvety terry cloth towel and the other side regular vinyl, so it does not slip on the hard floor. The first time my feet landed on the mat I felt sinking into relaxation. When I am down in child pose I enjoy lying my face down into the mat and not smell the vinyl and not get any imprints on my face from the vinyl. It is very gentle on my face, I do not smell the vinyl. While in downward dog my sweaty hands were being naturally dried by the mat. When doing the standing poses, my feet can actually feel safe on this mat and not sweaty and slippery. Also, it feels as if my foot is sinking into a carpet. The mat is not thick but it feels as a velvety/silky carpet. When I do my head stands I do not use a blanket anymore, my hands feel secure and my head feels comfortable on the synergy mat as well.I enjoy the mat in every class, and would definitely recommend using it. it is a great invention, instead of using a towel and a vinyl mat, I use only one mat, also it fits perfectly into the carry on mat bag and it is not heavy or cumbersome.

So far…so awesome!
I have gotten back into yoga after a little time off…OK, more like 6 months. I am a sweat machine. I don’t mind it most of the time, but for yoga, I was not getting the full benefit of my practice because I kept slipping and couldn’t concentrate on my breath/pose. After slipping on my old Hugger Mugger basic mat one too many times, I did a search for a towel and found this. A little skeptical at first, I figured it was on sale and only $20 more than the towel I wanted. Why carry two things if you don’t have to?When it first arrived, I was shocked (and a little worried) about how thin it was, but was hopeful regardless. I also bought a small water bottle that I could keep with it, per the recommendation to wet down where your hands/feet would be. I went to my first class with it last night and my oh my…IT ROCKED! I stayed put. No moving. I was even able to jump back without almost falling flat on my face. And even though it is thin, I felt that it gave me the same cushion as my old mat…maybe a little more because of the towel making it almost carpet-like. And it’s ligher!Bring a water bottle, take a deep inhale and never worry about downward facing dog again. Namaste!I’ll be back for a durability review in a few months…UPDATE: It’s still going strong. My yoga practice is not, but it’s still in amazing shape. I would still recommend. I wish I could carpet a room with it.

Fave Yoga Towel
I practice hot yoga daily and MUST practice when I travel! I absolutely love this mat/towel! I have had it for years now and it hardly looks worn at all. It grips well, it’s fairly thick but still folds up super compact. I have many expensive mat/towels and if I buy more of these I would likely toss ALL my others. You should buy it, it’s worth it.

Like a Slip-n-Slide
I would give these zero stars. It is ridiculously slippery to the point it is dangerous! My hands and feet were constantly slipping in Down Dog, Warrior 1 & 2, Triangle, Extended Side Angle and any other pose in which you are pressing 2 body parts away from each other or center. I tried dampening it beforehand and that didn’t help at all. I washed it only as per instructions and have never used fabric softener. I reached out to the company about this issue, and they were not supportive or helpful at all. The company does not stand by their product. It is just AWFUL and dangerous.

I wanted a yoga mat that I could take on camping adventures in my slide-on camper. The camper has limited space, so the mat has to be light, compact and truly portable. After taking my new Aurorae mat on a recent trip, I am thrilled with how the mat performed. It packs up into a compact flat shape that is easy to store and yet is comfortable and robust enough for my exercise program. Love it.
