“Essential” elements of a Moleskine Pro planner in a tidy package
I’ve been using the Moleskine Pro planners for years. My favorite thing about that series of planners is the weekly layout organized by the hour. When I saw that the company replaced their academic planners (horizontal weekly layout) with something that looked like a Pro planner, I ordered this for my middle schooler.The Essential will work quite well for my kid. It’s the quality level you’d expect (hope for?) from Moleskine and at a solid price point, about 40% cheaper than a Pro. The paper feels a bit thicker and smoother than that of my 2025 Pro. I’d guess that this might help reduce wear and tear since the Essential is soft cover. And my kid will like the stickers and sticky notes supplied in the back. Because of the XXL sizing, the extra space can also work well for small notes and memos. Until now, he’d been using the large format Pro- there isn’t much space to write things down, especially if your schedule is complicated and you don’t have super small handwriting.The Essential planner size is XXL, 8.5in x 11in. Since Moleskine retired their XXL size Pro planners last year, I was hoping that this planner could also be something I would want to use for myself. But for my purposes, there are some dealbreakers. The Essential planner has almost no blank pages at the end of the book, which I use in the Pro to take notes for larger planning schemes. The Essential also does not have the note pages between the weeks, again something in the Pro that I tend to use a lot. Both of these “deficits” could be remedied if I paired the Essential planner with more notebooks, but I decided to stick with a Pro.Happy with the purchase. I hope it lives up to expectations.

Bellissima, è la prima volta che l’acquisto con questo formato settimanale in colonna. Le dimensioni nel formato XL sono notevoli, ma se non si deve portare in giro è davvero comoda si ha lo spazio per organizzarsi le giornate e prendere qualche appunto. Bellissima la finitura e gli sticker in omaggio. Una vera sorpresa sono stati i post it moleskine, una chicca gradita. Consiglio!
