Great book for little ones!
I use this with some of my younger play therapy clients and they enjoy it very much. It has simple coping skills that can easily be practiced without losing the flow of the story. It’s one of the favorites in my playroom! Highly recommend for preschool and early elementary aged kiddos.

Wonderful Story with a Great Message
This book is such a helpful and heartwarming read for kids learning to manage big emotions. The story is easy for children to relate to, and Riley’s journey shows that it’s okay to feel angry but important to handle those feelings in healthy ways. The illustrations are bright and engaging, and the message is clear without feeling preachy. My child really connected with Riley and now talks about “cooling down” when feeling upset. It has been a great tool for teaching emotional awareness and self-control in a fun and gentle way. I highly recommend this book for parents and teachers who want to help kids understand their emotions better.

Great story to teach anger management techniques
This book is great to teach children techniques for dealing with their anger. My daughter is 3 and she is so into the story and loves just looking at the pictures on her own. After reading the story we had 3 solid techniques to implement when she gets upset that we got from the story. Love the parent tips at the end as well.

Great book, kindle edition has errors
Fabulous concept and awesome illustrations. Superbly written, with genuinely helpful information about anger management. Kindle ebook has some formatting issues. Page count is off, so you cannot view the full spreads horizontally. They are separated, which is a shame with such beautiful illustrations. On the back pages, text overlaps with images a bit.

Writing Teacher
I recently read Roaring Mad Riley to my kindergarten class, and it was a big hit! The kids were immediately drawn in by Riley’s big feelings and the bright, fun pictures. As we read, I could see them nodding along—some even shared times they felt just like Riley. The story gave us simple ways to talk about anger, and the calming strategies really made sense to the kids.

Teacher Approved
I read this book to my class of students ages ranging from 3 to 5. It was a great read. My kids really took a lot from it. I asked them about it the next day and they could retell the whole story. It’s very relatable for small children.

A Toddler Favorite!
A Toddler Favorite!I have to give Roaring Mad Riley five stars because my two-year-old granddaughter has asked for it every single day before her nap—for two months straight! The story and illustrations keep her engaged and curious, and she’s always asking questions as we read. Any book that holds a toddler’s attention like that is a keeper!

Good little story about a dinosaur who has an angry time at nursery. Comes with some useful techniques and things to practise. We have been trying these with our 6year old and it’s been helping alongside his support at school.

This book is fantastic and is a huge help in teaching my autistic son about feeling angry and ways we can calm down our bodies when we feel that way. It’s a cute and straightforward story with lovely pictures which makes it easy for him to understand and he’s been asking it for it nightly before bed. The back also has a section with more resources for parents and reading recommendations which I love and it has some really great exercises to practice for anger management as well! Our favourite currently is the bowl of soup technique. It works for managing anxious feelings too. I showed this to my son’s OT and she added it to her collection as well! Really great resource for kids of all abilities and a game changer for kiddos on the spectrum. I hope the author releases more books in the future!!

Our LO likes it. Listened for long enough to get the story and wants to read it over and over to point out the different types of dinosaurs. He was a bit confused that the teacher’s name was Mr Rex, even though he was a triceratops 🙂
