Downgraded to 4 stars after more use – still handy for the money
Yes still handy but… If you are slicing a tomato you can pierce the tomato all the way thru and use the tines as guides to get pretty even slices. Not so much with a WHOLE onion. To pierce an onion the tines do not stay straight as you push it in. They splay left or right and when you cut you can get pretty significantly wedged slices. Onions are better to cut in half and slice semi-circle cuts(better but can be slightly wedged too).Meat and ham seems acceptable cuts though. It is just anything that is a little bit hard it splays. In that case, you either deal with wedging or only pierce a little bit and use as holding device or use tines as starting cut spacer and you then need to finish cut straight.I still do not regret buying, it is just that my main motivation was quick accurate onion slicing for sandwiches.

Took a little getting used to… after hard to believe I have never had something like that in my kitchen! One of those things that make a little chore easier.

Not so good at slicing onions
I have used this several times and am somewhat disappointed. Unable to inset the prongs far enough into the onion because you need enough room to allow the height of the knife to fit between the prangs.
