Yes! A great tool
I was diagnosed with ADHD a few months ago and since then have been curious about finding out more and understanding it. I was looking up things online and reading and then classically forgot what I had read about it. I purchased this book because of the workbook aspect of it since I find writing and coming back to something helps me more. When I got this book, it was bigger and thicker than I had anticipated…but in a good way. When I read work book my mind immediately went to a small spiral bound notebook type of book. I haven’t completed the book yet, but found it funny that when I received it I picked up a pen and started flipping through to do the actual work book pages and thought to start from the beginning. In the first couple of pages the author mentions not immediately doing the fill in pages like the reader probably wants to do. I also appreciate the fact that the reading parts are easy to read, meaning that if I zone out I can easily figure out where I was or I can focus on the short paragraphs easier. I also appreciate the fact that after the chapter it summarizes the key points. So far, I’m really enjoying it and am excited to learn the tools the book offers. This is my first book like this so I don’t have anything else to compare it to, but I would highly recommend this if you’re wanting to learn more about ADHD without overwhelming writing.

Great resource
I use this book as a reference A LOT in my sessions. Lots of good activities for clients and therapist to either do together or for homework.

Almost Perfect
I use the CBT Workbook for Adult ADHD to teach me about ADHD, and how to cope with it. I go through it with my therapist as well. Its a great book. Here’s why I think so:-It teaches a lot about ADHD, and teaches how to manage or cope with it. Fantastic lessons. I’ll recite some sections to my family and friends on occasion.-This book’s, paper and spine, are sturdy for a book. Its tough to inflict damage on it.-This book is organized well, with different colored paged distinguishing sections. And general good progression of information. However, it has it has a major short coming. When trying to read and work through this book, it has felt the same as a trying to read a history book from school. Totally uninteresting and boring, thus making it incredibly difficult to read. Which is because of ADHD. Ironic huh? This book is best read with a second person, one who does not have ADHD, or a therapist who has experience with the book and ADHD. And either of those solutions that can be difficult to arrange. As long as you can find someone to read the book with, then I 100% recommend it.

Learn a few things
I bought this for somebody that is going through a lot right now. And I feel like I’m able to give this person some more resources on how to deal with stress and how to deal with the situation she’s going through right now.

Beginner book
The Book was well written and great for an introduction to CBT. The exercises were significant in allowing the person to learn about and do CBT. However the book was not for me as I was already familiar with CBT and looking for something more advances. The Book was returned as it didn’t suit my needs.

Needs more “workbook” features.
I expected more “workbook’ features. There aren’t enough areas for personal entries. It’s mostly just reading information that can be gathered from other sources.

As a psychologist who assesses and treats adult ADHD I have purchased so many books over the last 20+ years. This is one of the best…so much I texted all of my psychology colleagues to rave about it. Reviewed with several clients who found it easy to follow, relatable real life examples, and practical strategies. The author explains and applies the principles of CBT for ADHD in clear terms that are relevant and applicable to everyday. As a clinician, the section on symptoms was well organized and included many symptoms that often get overlooked or misunderstood. If you are going to buy one book about adult ADHD, get this one.

Well if you have issues finishing things, not a great format. Also the font needs to be more suited to ADHD. People creating a book for ADHDers should think of the issues with standard book formats.
