Good
I did a lot of research on these steps before I bought this one. This is the one my PT place uses at their practice. It’s sturdy and larger which is an improved from the old steps back in the 80s and 90s. The rubber step area is adhered on and not coming off. It’s nice and sturdy when stepping in it. I recommend.

Excellent choice for those who want the best
This is more expensive than other aerobic/exercise step platforms, but it is extremely sturdy, well-made, and truly something that will last a lifetime. It is relatively heavy, so it won’t go sliding around and feels very stable. Additionally, I wear a size 12 shoe and there is plenty of room on this step for my big feet.I also wanted a higher step-up for a more challenging workout. This product allows you to purchase additional “risers” separately for additional height (something I did), making it even more appealing for folks like me who want the option of a higher step-up. The non-skid surface is molded right into the step and looks/feels durable and won’t de-laminate and peel.I would purchase this all over again. Great product.

Great home step platform
Very pleased with this product. Due to covid, I was looking for an at-home option for exercising. This fit the bill. It is very sturdy and large allowing you plenty of space to step. I love having the two options of increasing the height; I could probably use another one. The only downside I see is if you live in a smaller apartment or house because it is rather large to store. Overall, great product!

Just like the ones at the gym.
This red color is on sale. It arrived very fast and I already did a les mills body step class on it in my family room. I have wood floors and this step is very sturdy no slip, I am really happy with it, Highly recommend.

Loving The Step
I purchased the Freestyle Step via Amazon Prime and received it in 2 days as usual. The box and item were in perfect condition as expected.I sit in a cubicle most of the day, and needless to say my legs do not get worked out. Even with running and other activities my legs are still a little weak, my first idea was to find a school with a stadium close by to run stairs, but it’s hard to find any that aren’t locked up anymore. I thought about a stair machine of some sort, but finally decided on giving the step a chance to start giving my legs a challenge. The Freestyle step I got has 2 risers on each side which gives me 8 inches to step up to. I thought this was not going to be challenging and that I’d have to buy additional risers, but nstead I figured I’d try it out and give 8 inches a chance.Since it came with 2 DVDs I wanted to see what they were like, so I tried the first, Beginning Step, in which you basically use it in multiple aerobic movements such as: stepping up, straddling, leg and knee raises, hamstring curls, around the world, a few basic dance moves, and more. Since I am constantly moving I think more risers would have been too much for beginning, so I am going to wait a little bit to order additional ones. The Beginning Step DVD is about 35 minutes of workouts: warm-up, more advanced, a core workout on the floor, and a quick cool-down stretch. This does get the blood pumping, and although they do get a little quick, it’s not hard to keep up with once you get the moves, and if you want you could go at your own pace by not doing as many of each.I have not used the second DVD yet which incorporates the Freestyle moves which puts The Step into unique positions (tilted, not level), but I’ll try these in a couple more weeks and try to remember to come back and add to this review. The Step also works great as an additional tool to strength training such as calve raises, lunges, and core. You can use it for many other strength exercises as well as adding in cardio to the strength training activity.Overall, I really like the added aerobic/strength workout I get, and after I see how the second DVD is, I might look for additional videos too. I definitely would recommend this Step to anyone who wants a fun aerobic activity.EDIT: April 23, 2012 – I have now been actively using disc 2 of the DVDs that came with the Freestyle Step. They use some of the same variations I listed above with some additions and variations. The second DVD is about 51 minutes as opposed to 35 minutes for the first DVD.There is more of what they call power moves where you jump or hop step. You also get to invert the step in the standard position with the angle facing down toward you with one freestyle riser on each side. Then they go into a core workout and cool-down with 3 risers on one side (2 regular rises and a freestyle riser), and one riser on the other (the other freestyle riser) which you use to do different variations of crunches (they call curls), knee crunches (knee curls), bicycles, leg extensions, plank, and different variations of these.I found a few different workout videos that I haven’t tried yet but will try once I get familiar with DVD 2 Freestyle Stepping. I could not find any DVDs specific to the freestyle (inclined) step workout, but am hoping that one of the DVDs I am going to try has some incline in them since the original step had special risers too.

The original step bench!
Just like the steps used in clubs in the 80’s step craze. It is also the original larger size: many sold now are smaller. Very sturdy and stable. I have used it for 45 to 60 minutes almost daily and still like new. Super grateful it was still being made and to be getting great results from it.

Great Cardio in a Flexible, Easy to Store Package, and for me: Fun!
It is easy to get my heart rate up quickly and as high as I want using this step, and I do cardio with a heart rate monitor, so there is no mistake about the effect. In a nutshell, I stream a playlist and move to the beat, going up, down, and across the step in different ways. This particular model step (the FreeStyle) can be set up level or at an angle, which offers some variety. The pieces are strong and by no means featherweight, but they are light enough and small enough to stack in a closet, an out of the way corner, or under a bed (as I do). They seem durable, and I like the fact that there are no moving parts, so I think the item will last a long time. (I hope so anyway, especially as the price seems high to me for a few pieces of molded plastic.)One knit pick: The one page instructions are unintelligible to me. Fortunately, things seem to work well and safely without them.In any case, my own bottom line is that for me it is fun, highly effective, and convenient to store and use.

Great Step for Exercise!
Product arrived in perfect condition, none of the issues others have reported. Nice improvement on the original with the ability to place the step at an angle for additional workout options. Very happy with the purchase, exactly what I expected and gym quality!

I bought this step as an upgrade from my original step I bought over 25 years ago and I love it! I love the versatility with the universal risers and the tread on top. Although when I received my step the tread had quite a few air bubbles in it. I just took a sewing needle and popped them then smoothed the tread out now it’s perfection. Very happy with my purchase, I would never buy a cheaper brand.

Amazing

This step is exactly what I need to work out in a variety of ways because I can change it to a ramp or incline. It is also large enough that I can lay back and use to for chest presses as well.

I love this and I haven’t even discovered all the ways to use it! It’s a perfect fit with my gym and the non-skid surface is awesome. Plus the extra risers! How could it not be awesome?

Love the versatililty of this step. The angles keep things interesting and challenging. I thought the DVD included could be better but you can always check out BTS Group Core on youtube for ideas on how to use it in a super creative way!
